Introduction to Arduino Workshop
Have you been curious as to what an Arduino is? Or, maybe you got one as a gift for Christmas but don’t really know how to use it to control a motor or LED. Or, even more confusing, how are you supposed to build a robot out of this little board that everyone promised was the key to building your robot army?

Join Morristown Makers on Saturday morning June 15 to learn what an Arduino can do and how you can make it work for you and your projects.
Who is the class for?
This class is for any age maker who is curious about using an Arduino. You don’t need to own an Arduino to attend the class. If you need to control lights, motors, switches or other actuators for your project, then come to this class to see how an Arduino might be the answer to your needs.
We ask that children 13 and younger be accompanied by an adult for this class.
Skills you will learn
This class is targeted at the beginner. You don’t need to have any experience in using the Arduino.
You will learn:
- The features of an Arduino.
- How to use one in your projects.
- How to set up the Arduino development environment.
- How to light up LEDs in certain patterns and control their brightness.
- How to control various motors.
This class is intended to be an introduction into the world of hardware control using the Arduino. Where you choose to go from here is up to you. If you have a specific project that you would like to do with the Arduino, bring your ideas to class and let’s talk about what you might need to learn to bring your project ideas to reality.
What to bring
You don’t need to bring anything to the class. However, if you have a laptop computer and want help setting up the Arduino development environment on your machine, feel free to bring that to class.
You do not need to bring an Arduino to class. But, if you have one, we would be glad for you to bring it and make sure you are comfortable using your own board for development.
